Electrical Engineering Intern
Job Description:
This is a summer internship position working with the mmWave module design team at MACOM’s Northampton, MA Center of Excellence. The candidate will be exposed to a variety RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave design and test using MMIC devices during their internship. Examples include:
- Measurement of RF subsystems in a connectorized or waveguide environment
- Measurement of multi-chip PCB subsystems such as digital, RF or mixed signal boards in a lab environment
- DC characterization using precision power supplies
- Small-signal RF measurements from 0.1 – 110 GHz
- Large-signal RF measurements 100 GHz
- Thermal characterization
- Modeling and simulation of passive devices and circuits in the Keysight ADS or Ansys HFSS platform
- Analysis and comparison of measurement and modeling data
Job Requirements:
- Must be working toward a B.S. or M.S. in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Due to ITAR Regulations, must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
- Bona fide RF/Microwave/Electromagnetic enthusiast
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Prior experience with test lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers is desirable
- Incredible attention to detail with a focus on impeccable quality
- Experience with coding in languages such as C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and others is desirable
The hourly Range for this position is $20 – $47 per hour. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
