New College Grad - Global Quality Signal Integrity Qualification Engineer

As a Signal Integrity Qualification Engineer within Micron’s Global Quality (GQ) department you will be responsible for validating and characterizing the high-frequency and electromagnetic performance of Micron’s DRAM and NAND products.  This includes defining test methods and specifications, specifying and maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring on-time execution of RF/EMI measurements and data analysis.  You will provide functional guidance to laboratory technicians to ensure accurate, timely data collection.  You will also collaborate with Technology Development, Product Engineering, and QRA teams to resolve failing/marginal test results, and to ensure that test methods meet company and customer needs.  You will also be expected to drive continual improvement, both for efficiency and effectiveness.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovation at Micron by developing new test methods to keep pace with Micron’s rapidly changing products, solving problems to enable new product introduction, publishing technical papers internally and externally, and sharing knowledge with engineering peers. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage radio frequency (RF) and EMI package component testing, data analysis, and reporting 
  • Develop and maintain test methods and specifications 
  • Development and maintenance of software used for test execution 
  • Development and maintenance of test hardware, fixtures, and specifications.  
  • Interface with internal and external customers  
  • Drive continuous improvement of test processes, data accuracy, and equipment utilization. 
  • Collaborate with engineering organizations throughout the company 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s, or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred) 
  • Coursework or hands on experience in Electromagnetics, or RF measurements, or Signal Integrity 
  • Experience in Signal Integrity Engineering, electrical test and measurement, or related field 
  • Understanding of S parameters, impedance, and high frequency measurement fundamentals 
  • Familiarity with basic electronic circuits, semiconductor technology, and quality and reliability fundamentals 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with laboratory equipment for electrical measurements: Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and oscilloscope at a minimum 
  • Experience with programming (Visual Basic, C++, Python, LabVIEW, or similar)  
  • Experience using MatLab or Python to fit and analyze complex data sets desired 
  • Strong initiative and ability to think and act independently, along with good problem-solving skills        
  • The ability to work with tight schedules, to prioritize competing activities, and to travel when required
