Fab Engineer


Job Description

As a Fab Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working with a team of other process and equipment engineers responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. This position will identify, diagnose, and resolve process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC methodology. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications and managing, auditing and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

Work closely with manufacturing Fab and understand manufacturing issues

Identify and evaluate interactions between equipment, modules and processes and resolve related issues

Utilize SPC methodology to identify process variations

Resolve yield and reliability issues through multi-level SWRs using DOE concepts and develop framework for process changes and conversions

Initiate and manage experiments to widen process margins as well as to test out manufacturability of next node solutions – effective interaction with manufacturing on such areas.

Actively support availability improvement projects while keeping sharp focus on day-to-day tool downs issues

Communicate and respond to issues in a timely manner, with a cadence appropriate to the priority of the issue

Manage test wafer inventories and allocate necessary inventories to process areas

Maintain test wafer management projects and automation setup

Maintain the automation projects and utilize micron software to manage processes

Collaborate with other areas to maintain bare wafer stocker inventories and configurations

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or Master of Engineering/Science with 0 - 2 years of experience

Understanding of SPC methodology

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of semiconductor devices, processes, and characterization techniques is preferred

Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills

2 years of Semiconductor process or CMP specific experience is a plus
