Energy Reduction Engineer - Mechanical

The Energy Reduction Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the implementation of energy reduction projects across multiple sites related to mechanical systems such as Chilled Water, Hot Water, Vacuum, Exhaust, HVAC, and other building systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with implementing multiple energy reduction projects within a large semiconductor facility. In this role you will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of teams and have a major impact on Qorvo's success by implementing energy reduction projects throughout the company. In this role you will have the opportunity to travel to multiple sites and help teams implement energy reduction projects to meet Qorvo’s sustainability goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and implement projects related to energy reduction
  • Develop new ways to save energy by optimizing building systems
  • Interface with fab tool owners to discover ways to reduce energy usage
  • Validate energy savings and track in database
  • Research new equipment and assess risks for new technology related to building systems
  • Troubleshooting issues related to the building automation system
  • Improve reliability and efficiency of Facilities systems such as Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, HVAC, Process Cooling Water, PVAC, Exhaust, CDA, etc.
  • Identify and support cost savings/energy savings projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Facilities Engineering experience 
  • Experience implementing multiple energy reduction projects
  • Ability to travel to sites to implement projects and audits
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work with people that have varied levels of technical background

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Previous exposure to industrial design, maintenance/operation of facility systems and basic project management experience
  • Experience with semiconductor wafer fabrication sites
  • Experience editing drawings using AutoCAD 2018 or Revit
  • Job may be based in Richadson, TX, Hillsboro, OR, Greensboro, NC, or Apopka, FL.
