Lab Specialist
We are seeking a Lab Specialist to join our dynamic electron microscopy team. We will consider candidates of entry, mid and senior levels. Successful candidates should have hands-on experience in operating dual beam FIB tools and preferably S/TEM sample preparation. The individual must be self-motivated, resourceful and a problem solver. This position has a 4x10 compressed work week after the initial training period.
Responsibilities:
- Operate dual beam FIB to prepare S/TEM samples and perform SEM and EDS analysis. Meet cycle-time requirements.
- Pre-treat samples for FIB liftout. Identify areas of interest, cleaving, cleaning, and coating.
- Improve existing and develop new S/TEM sample preparation methods.
- Collect and organize data, and report to internal/external customers.
- Assist engineers to develop new analytical method and techniques.
- Maintain laboratory 6S housekeeping.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are mandatory. Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines is critical.
- Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced working environment.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Basic PC skills in MS Windows and Office are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of basic semiconductor materials and processing is a plus.
- 3 years’ experience in S/TEM sample preparation for semiconductor devices and materials is highly desirable.
- Experience in SEM and EDS analysis is a plus
