Qorvo's Electronic Design Automation (EDA) team is at the heart of nearly every design activity in the company.  As an engineer developing semiconductor design tools, you'll be working directly with design engineers in each of our business units to deliver complex applications and development kits that enable Qorvo's innovative semiconductor products.  Learning our processes from the ground up, you'll build valuable experience learning how real-world semiconductor manufacturing processes are implemented.  You'll build on your understanding of solid-state theory and applications; learn how modeling and simulation practices are put to use in the product design flow; and also refine your software development skills using best practices, based on agile methodology, AI applications, and object-oriented development.

 

As a Process Design Kit (PDK) Engineer in our EDA team, you'll be responsible for the following:

  • Implementing design kits per process and product requirements
  • Developing, testing, and deploying software packages and other design tools
  • Implementing, testing, and deploying scripts and other design automations and tool integrations
  • Supporting internal and external customers
  • Building out a robust quality assurance (QA) infrastructure to support testing of EDA tools and applications
  • Building and maintaining portions of the EDA intranet site(s) for our internal products

 

To be successful in this role, you'll have an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree, but you'll bring a solid background in computer science fundamentals and programming:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.  MS strongly preferred
  • EE coursework or work experience in analog circuits, solid state, RF, and/or semiconductor manufacturing
  • CS coursework or work experience in object-oriented (OO) design, data structures, analysis of algorithms, databases, networking
  • Excellent programming skills in C, C++, and Python
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles:  agile methodology; requirements analysis; testing and test case generation; verification & validation; documentation
  • Comfortable and proficient in both Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with modern development tools:  git, IDEs (PyCharm, Visual Studio, and/or VS Code)
  • Solid problem solving and debugging mindset

 

This position could be based in Greensboro, NC; Hillsboro, OR; or Apopka, FL.
