Test Engineer - Hardware/Software

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Test Engineer, you will be the key technical operations resource for the MKS Global Service organization and will provide Test Engineering support for all Power Solutions products. Provide continuous improvement ideas to enhance all aspects of Service Testing as well as the test Engineering function.

 

You Will Make an Impact By:

Test Station Hardware (35 %)

  • Test Station support/upgrade.
  • Work with Technical Support Engineers and Service technicians worldwide to solve test problems.
  • Test station build/modification.
  • Create or provide documentation of test station hardware modifications for Service employees to enable upgrade of the Test stations on-site.
  • New product test set up.

Test Software (35 %)

  • Test Software updates/support.
  • Create script to be able to execute test SW updates to worldwide test computers.
  • Update local test stations for test SW.
  • Test Station/SW documentation.
  • Create instructions for Service personnel to update test stations worldwide.
  • Inventory and track all test programs on test machines worldwide.

Test Fixtures Build/Support (15 %)

  • Test fixtures build and design.
  • Build test fixture using existing build procedure or process.
  • Create improvements to existing test fixtures.

 

New Product TE Support (15 %)

  • Determine the facilities requirements of the new product and provide to management.
  • Determine the test equipment, test fixtures and test Software for the new product.
  • Implement items needed for test of the new product.

 

Skills that You Bring:

  • AS degree in a technical engineering field or equivalent experience, BS degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Test Engineering experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with test instruments such as function generators, oscilloscope, Power Meter, etc. is required.
  • Experience with the following interfaces such as GPIB, serial port, Ether Cat, ethernet, Device Net and Profibus is required.
  • Knowledge of Test Software such as Test Stand, LabVIEW, Power shell, Windows command prompt, DOS and shell script.
  • Knowledge in RF technology is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong customer relations, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $75,000 - 85,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
