Title: Etch Process Engineer, SAW R&D
Summary:
The Qorvo SAW R&D team is looking for a process engineer specializing in dry/wet etching to support next generation surface acoustic wave device development. The candidate will be responsible for multiple process areas for dielectric and metals removal with process responsibilities in dry etching (RIE/ICP), wet etching and chemical mechanical polishing (CMP)
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of modules and process development for RIE/ICP processes for surface acoustic wave (SAW) research and manufacturing
- Ownership of modules and process development for wet etching processes for surface acoustic wave (SAW) research and manufacturing
- Ownership of modules and process development for CMP processes for surface acoustic wave (SAW) research and manufacturing
- Collaboration with device integration engineers to meet project needs and implement innovative solutions to technical challenges
- Solve technical problems individually and in a team environment
- Design experiments to establish and optimize dielectric and metal removal processes
- Drive processes modules from development into high volume manufacturing executing project goals and managing risk through key milestone
- Implement process monitoring, controls and metrics for high volume manufacturing processes
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent
- 3-5 years (inclusive of related grad school work) experience in semiconductor research or manufacturing desirable, but not required. Recent college graduates welcome to apply
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DoE)
- Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills required
- Demonstrated problem-solving methods and experience
- Experience with data analysis tools and techniques such as Matlab, Python, Spotfire or similar software packages
- Scripting/programming experience preferred; SQL queries, data analysis scripting
- Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and windows-based software
