Mechanical Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer position at Process Instruments plays a key role in the design, development, and validation of new products that serve many applications for customers of various industries, including green energy, semiconductor, and sulfur recovery. Positioned within the New Product Development group, this role requires an inquisitive engineer who possesses a diverse skillset and is willing to solve complex problems in a creative way. The Engineering team at Process Instruments is team oriented, genuine, and responsible, creating a culture for team members who are hands-on and results-driven to impact the business in a positive way

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•              Work with an interdisciplinary product development team to execute product designs through the entire product development process, including innovation, specification development, design, prototyping, certification, and validation testing

•              Complete documentation packages for new products, including detail drawings, assembly drawings, work instructions, and testing procedures

•              Develop and deploy Bills of Materials, routings, and order entry structures for new products within the ERP system

•              Lead new product introductions into manufacturing, supporting material sourcing and production departments

•              Contribute to group development through process improvement and continuous learning initiatives within the New Product Development team

•              Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

•              Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

•              1-3 years of relevant experience

•              Experience with mechanical design principles, including, but not limited to, optical system design, precision mechanical design, and thermal system design

•              Proficiency in SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software, mechanical drafting, and GD&T per ASME Y14.5

•              Working knowledge of design for manufacturing principles relating to machined parts, sheet metal work, and additive manufacturing

•              Experience interacting with vendors on the selection, purchase, and validation of electro-mechanical components

•              Taking ownership of tasks, a hands-on approach, and a strong attention to detail

•              Navision ERP

•              SolidWorks and AutoCAD

•              SolidWorks PDM

•              SolidWorks Simulation

•              All required tools for assembly and other hands-on work
