Semiconductor Process Technician 1

Job Description
This is a full-time on-site Technician role located in Tempe/Scottsdale, AZ. The Technician will be trained in a variety of manufacturing and fabrication processes related to producing and characterizing semiconductor materials and components. This includes clean room fabrication, working with vacuum equipment, microscopy and other characterizations, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.  Ideally, the candidate will have a “generalist” mindset and be curious about learning new skills in order to contribute to a variety of tasks and projects.   

 

Responsibilities: 

Performing semiconductor or solid-state device fabrication, process development, photolithography, etching, passivation, polishing, and other precision/semiconductor manufacturing tasks 

Performing characterization work including microscopy, optical characterization, other characterization as assigned, and data analysis 

Understanding semiconductor device fabrication processes and implementing them as per SOPs. 

Executing new fabrication process development, helping with the scale-up and documenting new SOPs 

Maintaining/organizing data and tracking logistics 

Presenting processes, data analysis and planned experiments to the team 

 

Preferred qualifications: 

Hands-on Cleanroom Class 100 experience  

Experience with chemistry experiments, wet and dry chemical etch, acid cleaning, and metrology techniques 

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team-based environment 

Project management and cross-functional collaboration 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or related STEM field and hands-on classroom or prior work experience in one or more of: handling of laboratory chemicals, precision manufacturing, and/or cleanroom fabrication.
