Applications Engineer

Applications engineering is more than science: it’s helping exceptional people all over the world advance science and technology with great technical customer service.

Alicat Scientific's applications engineering team is responsible for determining the best custom instrument solution for each unique project our customers bring to us. Alicat instruments are used in a massive variety of applications including rocket guidance systems, life-saving ventilator testers, experimental fuel cell test rigs, brewery carbonation tanks, synthetic diamond growth systems, and much, much more. If these are the kinds of projects you are excited to learn about and contribute to, then applications engineering is for you. We're interested anyone with knowledge/interest in physics, medical, aerospace, semiconductor technology, environmental analysis, education, process control, manufacturing, optical sciences, chemistry, and/or fluid dynamics fields.

A typical day in the life of an applications engineer involves deep conversations with engineers and scientists via phone, email, and online chat, troubleshooting diverse problems in fluid systems, creating and sending quotes for Alicat instruments, and entering new sales and service orders.

We need someone with a curious mind and a passion to accelerate scientific development for our team. Applicants must have the following:

- Bachelor’s degree or greater in STEM field

- Understanding of and interest in physics

- Strong written and verbal English skills

- Comfort with multi-tasking

- Efficient data entry skills with high attention to detail

- Located in or near Tucson, AZ

- Experience with customer service phone calls is a plus!
