Core Purpose:

Our site in Billerica is seeking a/an Microanalysis scientist to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration from January - June 2025


Our Micro-analysis team is developing a method to count and identify unknown nanoparticles in DIW and very clean aqueous samples, which is a big challenge in the semiconductor industry. In this position, we are looking for a motivated and talented chemistry or chemical engineering intern to work in the Metrology Lab. The co-op selected for this position will spend most of the time in a lab setting to perform analytical tests using the cutting-edge metrology tools such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Confocal 3D Laser Microscope, Microscope FTIR, and Atomic Force Microscope and communicate their findings to the Metrology Team. The co-op will also help develop and improve upon various test methodologies. Most importantly, we are purchasing a high-resolution SEM system with the most advanced settings. The co-op can learn and use the tool during their term in Entegris.

In this role, you will:

• Perform and present the results of analytical tests to Senior Scientists and Engineers in the Metrology Team
• Become proficient in advanced analytical tools including an Atomic Force Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Confocal 3D Laser Microscope, Liquid particle counter, DLS, and Zeta Potential
• Develop and iterate upon test methodologies
• Frequently discuss test results and provide suggestions for future project development
• Routine analytical service: Help analyze samples from other teams

You're a good fit if you have:
• Open minded and eager to learn new techniques
• Able to adeptly analyze and organize data
• Knowledgeable in analytical or organic chemistry
• Desired Major: chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering
• Minimum GPA 3.0
