Summary of Role: 

As a Design Enablement Engineer, you will be a member of the Design Enablement Team responsible for developing design components for Process Design Kits (PDK) and Automation of them.

 

Essential Responsibilities include: 

Develop, maintain and improve GlobalFoundries Process design kits including support of EDA tools from vendors like Cadence, Synopsys and Siemens. 

Create PDK related documentation. 

Responsible for usage, update and documentation of PDK relevant software tools. 

 

Other Responsibilities: 

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Computer Science or related field from an accredited degree program.  

Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing. 

Fluent in English (Written & Verbal)  

Excellent technical problem-solving skills. 

Good attitude and interpersonal skills, tactful and works well in a team environment. 

Self-motivated, resourceful and shows initiative. 

Well organized and exhibits attention to detail. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

Experience in semiconductor and/or EDA industries. 

Good knowledge of electronic devices and semiconductor theory. 

Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. 

Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash...) is a plus. 

Exposure to Cadence IC (Virtuoso Layout, Schematic or Skill programming language) is a plus. 

Previous experience with Unix/Linux systems is also a plus. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills  

Strong planning & organizational skills

Expected Salary Range

$64,100.00 - $115,400.00

 

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
