Senior Process Development Engineer
Overview:
This is a fast-paced role ideal for a self-motivated individual who wants to work hands-on with the latest in Semiconductor equipment technology. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of Semiconductor, Thin Film, Micro-electromechanical Systems (MEMS), or similar manufacturing process steps. You will utilize your excellent communications skills by working closely with internal and external customers. Your willingness to be challenged will help you learn the entire process of single-wafer wet process semiconductor equipment.
This role will be onsite 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Tool set up and clean up before and after customer process demonstrations, including loading and disposal of chemistry, developing the design of experiments, performing experiments, and summarizing results into a customer-facing report.
- Operate the process equipment to promote completion of process demonstrations or experiments.
- Learn and be competent with software programs to execute process testing and runs.
- Increase Veeco's understanding of mechanical components of the tool by writing tests plans, performing the experiments, and then presenting the data.
- Improve the current toolset and guide other process engineers.
- Perform improvements/maintenance on equipment sets as needed and operate the metrology equipment (SEM, profilometer, etc.) to gather data in support of your experiments.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of process tools in operation or preparation for shipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance of all types of the process equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols for tool operation and maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose and fix electro/mechanical issues.
- Work with semiconductor production equipment, including chemical/mechanical/electrical upgrades or modifications to accommodate customer applications.
