Summary of Role: 

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking highly skilled and motivated New College Graduate (NCG) Facilities engineer to become part of our state-of-the-art 200mm factory. This position will be located at GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction, Vermont. 

 

Essential Responsibilities include: 

Work with the facilities operations team on daily issues, evaluating and solving equipment and operational problems 

Evaluating, modifying & improving facilities PM (Preventative Maintenance) & CM (Corrective Maintenance) program 

Managing and executing facility related projects via timelines and applicable project management tools 

Provide capital equipment input for plant capital (infrastructure) plan 

Evaluating, specifying, and implementing the operation and upgrades for new and existing equipment 

Initiating purchases for materials, parts, and equipment for facility operations 

Supporting other key plant processes and provide cross-functional support as directed by Senior facilities engineers or facilities management 

Manage and maintain facilities systems 

Evaluating, modifying & improving facilities operations guidelines and procedures 

Evaluating, modifying & improving facilities continuous improvement goals, plans and projects 

 

Other Responsibilities: 

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Education – Graduating with Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program.

Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.

Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) 

Minimum of 10% travel may be required 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Co-op or internship in the semiconductor field 

Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong planning & organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to work well within a global matrixed team or environment.

A background of mechanical interest 

Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self-starter 

Strong continuous improvement mindset, permanently driving to identify and eliminate waste and errors in business processes, work procedures and instructions, work organization, and communications with the team

Expected Salary Range

$52,500.00 - $107,000.00

 

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
